The fan lives on the front of the AC condenser.  To remove it in the conventional way, you need to drain and remove the radiator, remove the oil cooler, remove the intercooler and, finally, remove the condenser - and here's where it gets sticky! You have to disconnect the AC hoses to the condenser, which means discharging the system; to do that legally, you have to have a shop do it so the refrigerant can be captured.  But the worst part is that when I removed the hoses (my system was void of refrigerant), the anti-seize compound did not do its job and I ruined the threads on both the condenser connections AND the hoses! Cost a few hundred dollars and a hell of a lot of work to fix it, plus I ended up with an inferior condenser. Can you say, "Nightmare"?

About the only other way to do it is to remove the sheet metal cross member that runs across the front of the car, which is what I recommend.  I am very grateful to Richard Chang for passing on how to do this correctly (I failed to spy the bolts that hold things together and ended up drilling out spot welds - very messy!)  Here's the correct way to do it, per Richard: Drain the radiator and remove it.  Remove the headlights.  Tug the intercooler and condenser backwards (in the direction of the passenger compartment) - about 15 inches down from top of each vertical frame support, you will see a 10mm-head bolt holding each vertical frame support to the back of the bumper cross member. Simply remove these bolts and you should be able to remove the top cross member.
